The group noted that there was no government enlisted professional body for the model industry. Other media (including film and tv industries) had well developed associations who looked after their members and ensured a certain professional standard through accreditation. The models wanted MAB to be a similar body aimed at supporting the fashion industry of Bangladesh to become more professional and a world leading player.
Speaking at the event, models said:
We’r delighted to have hosted the first gathering of MAB today. This is a much needed initiative which is aimed at bringing together the top models of Bangladesh – we are stronger together and have one voice. I hope the organisation will grow and support all models of Bangladesh – male and female – and also from across our great country.
As proud Bangladeshis, we want to support our country to continue to prosper and grow. We are Ambassadors for Bangladesh, at home and globally, it’s crucial that MAB thrives and supports the best diverse talent.
